Darien Golf Center News Mizuno MP-60 Forged Irons- larger
head and sweet spot for forgiveness but it still keeps the
traditional Mizuno look. They incorporate a new deeper cut
muscle design to create a slightly higher ball flight and
added forgiveness. The MX-900 irons incorporate are forged
with hybrid technology in the 3-7 irons, 8-PW are one-piece
forged for ultimate feel in the scoring irons.
For the serious walker Titliest has come out with the X66
stand bag weighing in at 3.9 lbs. If you want more bells &
whistles go with the X67 at 6.2 lbs or the sporty X68 at 5.2
lbs. The sc65 is a nice lightweight cart bag at 5.5 lbs.
Cobra Speed Drivers and fairway woods are new on the block
as well. The progression is as follows: M Speed for the slower
swing speed, F Speed for the average and X Speed for the highest
swing speed.
Cleveland has a new Ti '06 Launcher Driver and Steel Headed
fairway launcher with thin crown technology. You will pick
up at least 10 yards with the new technology. The Never Compromise
Gray Matter 2 putter features a weave face and comes in three
models. Due out in March is the New HiBore 460cc Driver that
boasts the lowest center of gravity in golf.
Ping G5 Driver & Fairway Wood Demos are available as well
as the New G5 & I5 irons. Take them for a test run at your
favorite course or in our hitting bay at the store. The G5
irons are the most forgiving irons ever. Ping has a great
selection of golf bags as well. The 2006 Ping Hoofer, Craz-E-Lite
& the real light Mit-E-Lite. The G5 line of ladies clubs will
be available by mid march.
Titliest has two new forged irons starting with the Forged
735CM Iron that is a blended iron set for the skilled player
seeking shot control, maneuverability and playability. Available
in mild carbon steel and 410 stainless steel. The Forged 775
is a model that will replace the 804os iron. It is a forgiving
blended iron set and is also oversized. A new 905R 460cc driver
is due out in March and has 35% larger sweet spot over the
905T.
Nike has the new Sasquatch Driver (SQ) and Fairway Woods.
The Driver has a large footprint with increased stability
which translates into more control and distance for you! Nike
also has a new pro combo day bag with a stand, great for that
late afternoon nine holes.
US Kids has added two new sets for girls. A Lime System 5
club set with stand bag for girls age 9-ll and the Mango System
for girls age 11 and up. These are in addition to the Pink
(for 3-5 year old) and the Lavender System (6-8 year old)
that we already carry. We also carry a full line of clubs
for boys ages 3 to 12 from US Kids. The R7 XD and the R7 CGB
Max are the latest Taylormade irons.
The R7XD have inverted cone technology for longer shots that
are easy to launch; the CGB irons have tungsten cartridges
in the heel and toe for more forgiveness. Both are available
now. Also new is the R7 425cc driver which is available now.
A 460cc version is due out is April.

Tour Edge has a great fairway wood that is catching the eye
of some of the tour pros. The Exotics comb-brazing titanium
cup face design fairway woods have a great look and even greater
feel. The comb-brazing process blends a titanium cup face
with the heavier strength hyper-steel body to create higher
ball flight and less spin. We will also carry the Exotics
Driver that has a 460cc head with comb-brazing technology.
Lamkin grips has stepped up in the technology department with
a dual density torsion control grip. This grip has a soft
yet durable second layer for ultimate tack, traction and shock
absorbtion. The Winn grip company has added a G8 line that
is tackier, firmer and more durable than ever.
Odyssey has taken it a notch further with the 3 ball putter
due out in March. The putter incorporates saturn ring technology
and tri-ball alignment to help you visualize the line to the
target. It also has the famous white steel insert for premium
feel.
Nike Slingshot OSS irons are new and have caught the eye of
Golf Digests hot list for 2006. A new wider sole and a deeper
center of gravity have made the average golfer much happier.
Nike's new hybrid has caught our attention with a low slingback
design, carbon crown and 455 stainless steel faceplate.
The Never Compromise Gray Matter 2 putter features an aluminum-infused,
composite weave insert, extreme heel-toe weighting with tungsten
weights and a lightweight aluminum body. It comes in full
mallet, mid mallet or half mallet.
Also new is the R7 425 driver which we have in stock now.
The new 460cc will be available in April. It has a redesigned
head with 28 grams of moveable weight allows the golfer to
set up the driver in 6 different configurations. New REAX
shaft provides greater club head speed and more consistent
drives.

New Addition Coming Soon for Darien Golf Center!
A new 1600 square foot addition has been approved by the planning
and zoning commission! Architect Neil Hauck from Darien has
done a great job with the design. The plan includes three
hitting bays and a new putting green. We hope to have the
construction completed by late spring/early summer.
